Enjoy YOUR happy hour… or two!

Lately I’ve been having this epiphany about me-time… I don’t know if it has anything to do with the fact that I now have two children, or that I’ve been dealing with PPD (read about that here) but I really have rediscovered how much I enjoy getting out and doing something solely for MY enjoyment.

I know that comes across as selfish, when I say it just like that, but single people and peeps without kids do it all the time. Freak, I used to go and do things that I enjoyed ALL THE TIME. When you become a mom many things change…

  1. you feel guilty every time you leave the children with someone else
  2. you hurry when you’re out, because you have to get back to the kids
  3. you’re out and still look at pictures of them on your phone and complain that you miss them

So, recently I’ve been finding time to get out and do things that make me happy and give me a chance to be ME, so that I can go back to my babes and appreciate all the amazing time I get to spend with them. It’s called BALANCE… very important!

Something that I really enjoy doing is going out with girlfriends… it can be a simple cuppa tea or an evening dinner, or a movie – you name it. So, one Friday afternoon a few weeks ago my two friends and I visited Tonic in Linden, what a little gem! I absolutely love discovering new places and trying new things and this was just a treat!

I highly recommend checking it out! When a place has a sign saying “GOOD VIBES ONLY” as you enter, you know it’s gonna be a goodie!

Needless to say, in 2018 I hope to do more of what makes me happy, more dinner dates with friends, more coffees and more discovering hidden Jozi gems for some tasty goodness!

Love, Mix
